Help needed please - Phillips TV Remote code.

Hi there everyone,
I have just had a new Samsung set top box installed after months of problems with a Pace box, anyway then the sound on my old remote control wouldn't work, so i rang Virgin and they gave me loads of codes but none of them worked, so they said right we will send a new one out to you, and that is exactly the same, again, everything but the sound is ok, very strange.

It came with a leaflet explaining things etc, but no luck, So i rang them yet again and he told me that i would have to use my television remote if i can't get the codes to work.

I seem to have 2 lots of codes in the leaflet they sent the Brand list which are 4 numbers long and code list which are 3 numbers, which one is it that i am supposed to program in ??

I was told by faults that this was an automatic remote control and that I wouldn't have to program anything in, but you do have too.

Any help really appreciated.

krys.

to the forum!

The 4 digit codes are code search codes, so you put one of them in, press ok and then press the off button several times on the remote until your TV goes into standby, then press OK to confirm the setting on the remote.

Re: Help needed please - Phillips TV Remote code.

Thanks so much ben, I have tried the one Virgin gave in there leaflet code 4191 that came with the new remote, but no luck as none of them work, it did accept the code 100, but then i couldn't even get the volume/mute symbol on screen, let alone any sound or mute.
I spent over 40 minutes yesterday to someone at virgin who didn't appear to know any more than many of us on here. not encouraging.

Any other thoughts please let me know.
