External hard drive

Is it possible to connect an external hard drive to a V+ box and watch downloaded programs on it.

Its a TV Drive box if that helps

The V+ box has an e-sata port that one can connect an external hard Drive. Virgin Media has disabled it, you can enable it but it will violate VM's terms and conditions. Also this forum does not allow links to "how to"

Isn't there way's of plugging a hard drive directly into the tv and watch it's contents?

Some TVs have usb ports that can play mp3s and display photos. I do not know of one that can play video...

What you can do is record to a dvd then put the dvd into your pc and copy the contents to a hard drive, external or internal.

If i wanted to watch downloaded programmes from my computer on my TV, i would at burn the video files as a divx DVD, then watch them on a divx compatible DVD player
