wireless cable

hi ive just moved into a new flat and we have just recieved virgins tv package that you install yourself.

the problem is that the connection point is in the bedroom and we want the box in the living room, as its a newly built flat i doubt the landlord would appriciate us drilling holes for wires so is there a device that would be able to send the signal from virgins connection port in the bedroom wirelessly to the set top box situated in the living room (so must have coaxial connections at either end of transmitter and reciever). ive had a look online but can only find the wireless scart ones.

virgin dnt do self installs!!!! so i dnt know hwo you got one

but to answer your question tehre wireless av senders that should do the trick have a look on maaplin i know there dear but it should give you a diea what to look for

Yes they do, but only if the property previously has cable (and an engineer came round at that time).

yeah the av ones have scart as input and output, im wanting one that i can plug my coaxial cable into then output a coaxial at the other end.

i assure you that virgin do send self installs, you get a modem, settop box a few manuals and cables etc as ive recieved one this year, one last year at a different address and so have friends of mine.

and virgin also have sent out self installs to adresses to houses that dont have a connection ports inthe house. i know about 3 different people that were told they had to install it themselves or pay an installation fee and wait around a month for someone to do it. they were told the port should already be in the house but wasnt, so they had to wait for virgin to come round anyway.

'wireless Docsis' does exist but its way outside the end users scope and VM dont use them.

oh ok, just found it weird that there are only wireless av transmitters, also wireless routers are out sending large data amounts, any reason why wireless coxial signal transmitters for home use isnt freely available, im surprised the market isnt flooded with them by now.

not only do they do 'self-installs' but they send modems and set top boxes thro the post

The bandwidth of cable is huge, many times higher than the best wireless routers can achieve.
