Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Can anyone answer this?
How many analogue channels are there still on VM (ex-NTL)? When these are phased out, how many digital streams will fit in the space previously occupied by the (presumabely 6MHz) analogue channel?
When I feed the analogue signal directly into my TV I get about 35 channels (some encrypted) but a few of these (e.g. EuroSport, MTV1, QVC, VH1) are duplicated multiple times. This seems to be a waste of bandwidth. Any explaination?

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
BBC iPlayer channel launching on EPG next week;
"BBC iPlayer on Virgin Media is available to its digital TV customers at no extra cost and is launching from next week through its Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) as well as currently through the red button whilst viewing a BBC channel. There are around 350 hours of content available per week - for more information, go to virginmedia.com "

It is in Wales. We get S4C. S4C Digital and S4C2.
It is rumored that some of the shows on S4C2 actually get viewing figures in double digits....

Not too sure how legal it is, but you can view S4C on Zattoo - http://zattoo.com/ - seems to work well.

both are FTA on Sky, however the digital services only show Welsh language programming.

Thanks, but I was going to V+ it and watch it after the England game. Never mind and thanks to all for the clarification.

I read on a BBC site a few months ago, just after the archive trials had finished, that they were now going to decide how much and what material to put on the i-player at any one time, and it was hoped to go out for release in the Autumn. This is what I wanted the i-player for, over 650,000 hours of television going back to the early 50s and over 300,000 hours of radio content, brilliant.

I remember in the 80s just about every comedian had a joke along the lines of "the BBC is like the wife's cooking - too many repeats" and now we can have repeats on demand. Is this progress or regress?
Must dash. Hancock's Half Hour is about to start!
