Basically, we pay the same as Sky Viewers for less channels. Thats a known fact.
We should have been paying enough money for variety right now, so I couldnt 100% say that I would pay more for More variety.

And some premium rate Virgin subscription channels (such as the Star channels) are part of basic Sky packages.
The service is pretty dire, with the only good points being the nice deals people can get, and the cheap install price. VOD I feel *could* be a selling point but it's still very basic and of little worth.

Has anyone used iPlayer yet? It apparentely launched via the red button today, but I haven't been able to try it yet as I'm out.

I tried it and it seems to work okay. Takes a good while to load and lacks all of the polish of the web interface, and of course the menus look scruffy and low-resolution.
But at least it's finally here.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
At least it's finally here. Extremely lethargic and sluggish at loading but with the size of database perhaps that's not too bad. No widescreen menu etc.
The search facility on this initial version is vastly better than I thought it would be though (and quicker).

Any chance of maintaining an up-to-date channel list and making it 'sticky' so it appears at the top of this thread? Or, does this information exist elsewhere already? It's difficult to wade through the chatter, find the latest changes, work out which ones are ex-ntl or ex-Telewest and merge them with the previous latest list.

Can anyone confirm the availability of iPlayer on the ex-ntl platform? If so, how do I go about accessing it please?

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Now that iPlayer (well only soft launch) is here, do you think that Virgin will update BBCi so that it includes things like page numbers, which are on Freeview and Sky.
Also is there any updated news on Pop Girl and True Movies 2 coming to Virgin Media?
Thanks

D'oh! I missed the all important yet obvious 'tune to a BBC channel' step before pressing Red.
Thanks. I'm having a play with it now.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
I'm not so sure about the translucent background, though. I tried it during one programme and could hardly see the menus as the picture underneath was showing. A good start though...
