Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Hello TV Boy, l have read several comments, from yourself, concerning ' Talks' with Sky and VM, over the basic package, over recent weeks, how certain are you that talks are going on, and also do you know if there is a court date set yet, as for some unknown reason that subject has gone cold.
And you might be able to answer this question, how long is it going to take for NTL / TELEWEST to become ONE set up, as VM have been running for several months, are there contractual problems, and that is the reason for the delay. cheers mate

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
All we have to go on is Neil Berkett said sometime ago that the "Door is always open" or something to that effect.
Nobody knows they are talking, and Im not entirely sure they are. The courts will decide! :P

Major News on ESPN Classic!!!
Recieved an email from a nice chap who works for ESPN Classic.
Quote:
Hello Mark,
Many thanks for your email and your interest in ESPN Classic. Its always good to hear from someone who appreciates our channel.
Where to start with Virgin. We have been in discussions with them for some time and chances look good that we will be added in the future. As you probably saw in the recent press regarding the Arsenal Club channel,Virgin are maintaining that they have capacity issues at the moment. This is exactly the reason we have not been able to progress further in our discussions. The team at ESPN Classic remain optomistic that the capacity issue will be resolved and that we will be able to reach an agreement.
I wish I could be more specific in regards to timing, but its simply not possible right now. The best thing that you can do is simply register your request with Virgin. Let them know that their existing customer base is interested in receiving ESPN Classic.
Thanks again for your support, and please feel free to sign up for our monthly newsletter at wwww.espnclassic.com.
Best regards,Marco
|
Now I know there are a few people on here who were looking forward to ESPN Classic coming to Virgin, so as Marco says;

The sooner they get out the software which will make more channels available, so they arent constantly using this stupid excuse of Capacity, then we may get somewhere.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Further Update on ESPN Classic.
Quote:
Hi Mark,
Sounds like you are definitely up to speed with Virgin Media's technical plans.
Yes, discussions have been going well, but I expect they will take months more before its all tied up. My goal is to ensure they are wrapped up before Virgin frees up additional capacity.
Again, we appreciate your support and communicating this to Virgin.
Best,
Marco

That was the response after telling ESPN about Virgin's current "restrictions" and what seems to be the way they are going to combat the problem.
Its promising that the negotiations went well. I just hope the capacity excuse isn't a way of just getting out of an agreement.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
I got the following from an Virgin Media worker who was in my house today fixing my Internet.
''We have postphone adding any new channel until later in the year due to central head ends need some work doing to them and our money [For this year] to work with is running out. We hope to start work when the money comes in March/April time. We have money in the pot but that budget for repairs etc"

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
So no chance of BBC2 Scotland being added in time for the Aberdeen v Bayern game tonight then?
