Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.

in St Hellens (ex-tw) dated 12.1.08 and there are a lot of outdated channels on there such as ITV News Channel, Leonardo, Eurosport News, ABC1 etc.

However there is a listing for Motors TV

Info from Jasmeet.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.

Yup. Who can be worried about Sky One at a time like this?

The whole line up is being stripped down, and we could have MORE channels, MORE IMPORTANT channels removed, than Sky One.

Sky One isnt coming back. Not until theres a takeover, and that is NOT gonna happen soon, because of the Credit Crunch.

Right now, my concerns are the channels being removed. Ive had one of my Favs be removed with no explanation, and now one of my Mrs. is being removed.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.

Yeh, I want CMT, Tara and TCC back. ;-)

E4 + 1 got taken off because Channel 4 wanted + 1 on there instead, MTV are removing MTV Flux, Discovery HH + 1 got pulled by Discovery and so it goes on.

Fact is that channel negotiations are second only to nuclear arms talks in their complexity. Virgin are not being walked over like ntl: were when it comes to negotiations and the number of people who will quit their service due to loosing Leonardo for example is minimal.

As for Sky, wait until the annual figures come out and then watch for movement. The advertisers are going to start to expect to pay a lot less for channels that are only seen on its own platform.

I think you got More 4 and E4 mixed up there, E4 +1 is still on. They removed More4 +1 for C4 +1.

That's not strictly true as the carriage agreement between Discovery & VM was to carry X amount of Discovery channels so one of the timeshift channels had to be removed so DMAX could launch on VM.

Discovery H&H +1 still broadcasts on satellite

Bit of a strange one that because martin lost it but other people in Birmingham and West Midlands have reported on another forum that they still have it.

Perhaps just gremlins in his box.
