Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.

You never know, with what l have been reading in the media, we will have everything to choose from, if the buyout goes ahead, and that Sky take over VM, if not has anyone £800.million quid to lend me, and l will give the consumer everything they want. that is probabely, the reason, why we have not heard anything about the court case.

WHY DO WE NEED TO SWITCHOVER?
Switchover is a complicated process, and needs to be done in stages so that everyone in the country will be ready for it.

The best way to check which TV region you are in is by seeing which ITV news service you receive or by going to Teletext page 106.

*The Channel Islands will be switching over to fully digital TV and this is currently scheduled for the first quarter of 2013. The actual dates for switchover in the Channel Islands are subject to negotiations with France.

Don’t worry; you'll get plenty of notice before services in your area are affected, and advice on what to do.

As far as I know BBC Gaelic will appear on the following network

Virgin - Only in Scotland [ Like S4C is in Wales ]
Sky/FreeSat - All of the UK
Freeview - not until 2012.
BT Vision - I do not know
The Web - I think it will be online.

I know RTE International will be on Sky/Freesat and maybe Virgin as we got Tara on Ex-Telewest in 2001.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.

SKY BASIC ON VIRGIN MEDIA UPDATE:

Cable operator Virgin Media has held talks recently with satellite pay-TV group BSkyB over returning the Sky channels to the cable platform, Virgin Chief Executive Neil Berkett told Reuters.

BSkyB pulled its channels off the Virgin platform last year in a very public spat after the two sides failed to agree terms for a deal.

Both groups have appointed new chief executives since that decision however and Berkett said there had been more dialogue in the last two or three months than before.

"It's fair to say that with a change at the top of both organizations, there is a dialogue and there's no sort of emotional legacy that would hold us back," he said in an interview.
