Thanks for info.
But I was told the few days ago that.
Virgin are thinking about having BBC IPlayer on 108, 113 or an higher number.
With BBC HD moving the new HD lineup somewhere in the 300's of the EPG.

Thanks for info - now added to my list.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
what i'm worried about at the moment is i've heard too many times from VM that they will concentrate on their strength which is BB and they seem to be leaving the TV side of things behind.
What they need is some sort of must have HD channel that Sky don't have or sign up the terrestrial HD channels exclusive to VM then they could be the only place you can get the soaps HD. That would be something that could drive people to move over to VM from Sky but they don't seem to be looking to do anything at all as far as I can see

The owner of Sumo.tv who currently have EPG slots on satellite channel 144 & 145 have sold their EPG positions to Discovery Networks for £1.4M so the DMAX channels will move to those positions on satellite and Sumo.tv will move further down the EPG.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
The following this from thejazz Web site:
Quote:
As you may be aware, theJazz is due to close at the end of March. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of theJazz over the past 15 months.
We will remain on air until March 31, and we remain committed to supporting jazz music and the musicians who make it. However from February 25, Classic FM is now broadcasting two hours of jazz between midnight and 2am, seven days a week. This programme is available on FM as well as DAB and therefore has a far wider potential audience.
Helen Mayhew has joined the team on Classic to present a two-hour show from midnight to 2am each day from Monday to Friday, while Tim Lihoreau is hosting host the show in the same slot on Saturday and Sunday....
On behalf of the team behind theJazz, we would like to thank listeners for all their good wishes and the warm, kind words in support of the station. We all very touched that you have enjoyed what you have heard and that the station has made a difference to your lives.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
TV boy do you keep a record of what you post to show if
a)It is fact not rumour
&
B) happens when you say it will.( I understand you report what you see)
I ask in good faith & with no malice .
I just wonder how much notice we should give to what is put out in the press as "happening"

Not sure if this is a dig at me or not. Having read with interest what TV boy posts & a big thank to you. I wonder if he had any idea of how much really happen when the source he found it on says.
It is very easy for anyone to say this or that is coming, & for it to be picked up. (The Daily Mail has run a long series of stories based on a misquote of a report {which the Times corrected } & now it has become fork-lore)
The Hbos share story is an other case .
These things happen I only ask does he keep a record

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
I guess the record is just what is posted, which isn't editable after replies.
Information is gathered from sources close to or in the company, or from the general news and/or media.
Although some things may not happen (IE DMAX+1), the majority of it does, and thats what makes it very reliable.

A line up of one!
Seriously, I hope that this is an indicator of VM's commitment to HD. Mind you, I only expect to get ITV HD, Channel 4 HD and Five HD this year at most. Just hope they bolster substantially their HD content on VOD.
Incidentally, I notice that VM seem to have ceased adding to TV Choice, with the 'What's New' section being taken down. I wonder if this is an indication of a big change coming with lots of new content in April?

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
i know im late in saying this but HBO is Home Box Office an american production studio & they have various premium subscription packages which offer a number of channels on both satellite & cable. there are also a few european HBO channels although currently none in the UK. you could compare their packages & channels to Sky Movies (although HBO make & release alot more films then Sky Movies do), however they also make & air series's such as Curb Your Enthusiasm. most of their broadcasts are copy protected using Macrovision so unless you have suitable hardware programs can not be recorded. im quite surprised that no one else on here seems to of heard of HBO. i have family in america & have watched their channels when visiting them, however id heard of HBO long before then.
