Help us get Arsenal TV on Virgin Media
The Arsenal TV channel is now into its fourth week of broadcasting and the feedback so far from fans has been good.
The exception is from supporters who have Virgin Media as their provider.
Arsenal and Setanta understand that the continuing absence of Arsenal TV on Virgin is frustrating for Arsenal fans.
Please be re-assured that we are continuing to work with Virgin to ensure that the channel is available as soon as possible.
To help us, we suggest that all fans that can receive the Setanta Sports pack on Virgin, or intend to subscribe to the Virgin XL pack, call the Virgin customer service centre and
register an interest in receiving the Arsenal TV channel.
We want Virgin to know that there are lots of customers or potential customers that care about Arsenal and the best way for that to happen is for you to tell them.
Click here for Virgin Media contact details.

No official date for Arsenal, but the following:

"We are currently in discussion with Arsenal and Setanta Sports, the [channel's] distributor, about launching this channel on our platform," said a spokesman. "We hope to launch Arsenal TV soon and will make an announcement in due course."

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
....I think it's interesting to note that Virgin's PR spokesmen made no mention of capacity issues in that article....
If there are no capacity issues, what other issue (for a company heavily in debt...) could there be for not launching Arsenal TV or other channels? Perhaps, when VM starts its new financial year, some of these capacity "issues" may suddenly not be an issue anymore.
On a financial note, VM's 4th quarter results will be out on 28th February along with the usual webcast from VM's management. If the company is continuing to do well and reduce its debt, perhaps the management may have something to say on new channels at that time.
Personally, I think we'll have to wait for the Easter Bunny before we see any new channels come along. But, if VM comes under continuing pressure, they may have to launch Arsenal TV soon to calm customers down.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
ITV is to shake up its digital portfolio by handing CITV an injection of commissioning cash and extending its broadcasting hours - The news comes just an day after ITV give ITV4 new broadcasting hours.
Info from Broadcast Now.
17;25 Update: I have just been told that CITV will be onair untill 6pm from this weekend that the 'new hours' that Broadcast now was on about.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Arsenal TV on Virgin Media update:
Today Virgin Media said discussions were ongoing but denied the problem was capacity.
'We are currently in discussion with Arsenal Football Club and Setanta Sports, the distributor of Arsenal TV, about launching this channel on our platform," said a spokesman. "We hope to launch Arsenal TV soon and will make an announcement in due course'.
'As we deliver services over cable we can technically carry many more channels than we do now, but there are many issues that can affect a channel launch, including contract negotiations, terms and conditions and licensing; therefore the assumption that there are capacity issues is a simplistic (and erroneous) conclusion.'
