I miss the Simpsons and have only just joined Virgin. Lots of other people will not come to Virgin because they would miss Sky basic channels.
Just because you don't care doesn't mean that no one does.

Agree, if VM get Sky basics back, they will get customers returning IMHO.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
hmm so the fact that virgins customer base GREW when the sky basic's went means nothing then?
The Sky basics arent worth the time, i mean sky one shows movies??? Since when has Sky One become another Sky Movie channel?
They show 4, 5, or even 6 episodes of a show back to back, they have no new stuff to show because they put all of their money into American shows which are not being made currently due to the writers strike!
I can say this till im blue in the face, i do not miss the sky basics, if i they come back they come back, if they dont.. oh well theres other ways to watch the stuff they have on there without lining the murdochs pockets!

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
I don't miss them.
occasionally sky will try and pee off virgin customers by putting a champions league match on sky one.........for no other reason than......"because we can". That annoys me a bit.
but i have sky sports news on my freeview, with sky news.

But when those are removed from freeview you wont! Sky are trying to dominate freeview just like they tried to force virgin into paying over the odds for their channels...

There's not a lot of reason for you to go blue in the face. I'm sure everyone knows YOU don't miss sky basics, but, like I say, plenty of othr people do. Or are you saying that as you don't miss them then no-one else is allowed too?

thats true - though sky news is basically the same as BBC news 24, and with Setanta sports news now on Virgin I really don't see much of a difference.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Well I like Lost and 24 and my kids like the Simpsons so I would certainly prefer if Sky One returned. At least Lost series 3 will be on VoD later this year so that will help, not bothered about seeing it first. I've stayed with VM only because my overall service is stable and goof value and it just feels to much effort to change to Sky for TV, although the moans from my kids did almost force me to change at one time!!

I was with Sky - That's why I miss them. I amdm with Virgin primarily for BB and am happy with the TV but miss Sky 1.
I also was suprised that I have to pay for caller Display with Virgin but overall am happy as I couldn't get more than 2Mb BB over my phone line.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
It is the overall package which counts, that doesn't mean there are channels you would like to see which are not currently available. People left VM because of this, that is the voice you will not see posted here.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
Is Arsenal TV available on Virgin Media? Arsenal TV will NOT be available on Virgin Media at launch. We are in discussion with Virgin Media and Setanta Sports to launch on cable soon. The date will be publicised widely as soon as it is confirmed.
Info from Arsenal.com

It's on Sky channel 423 only at the moment. There is now no confirmed launch date at present for cable due to the above mentioned capacity issues on the VM network, so don't go looking for it!
