That would buy them a bit more time. Question now is, how many of the "coming soon" channels listed here will now not happen this year unless they sort their "critical" issue?

I have been told that Virgin HAVE got room to add channels on the Telewest side but they are running out of room on the NTL side. But they are adding more room.

I feel you might be right.
Unfortunatly the company continues to add these stupid loop channels and preview channels with no reason at all, but instead uses the customers money to buy bandwidth to put more of them on!

Did you not see this post from last night:
Quote:
A: Due to issues with Virgin Media's channel capacity Arsenal TV will not be available on Virgin Media at launch. The channel will launch as planned on Sky hanel 423 on January 14th. Arsenal would like to apologise on behalf of Virgin for this delay and re-assure all supporters that we are working with Virgin and Setanta to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Arsenal TV will be available to Virgin customers in the future and the date will be publicised widely as soon as it is confirmed.

Do you expect it to come at all now? If not this month, do you think the problem should be resolved by next month? thanks!

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
there is no capacity constraint, too many channels have been dropped without replacements for that to be true

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
...they've admitted no such thing.
Been through all this a billion times before on here...
40+ odd front row channels were switched off when On Demand launched. The capacity could easily be switched back on again, if necessary.
The reason why March is being banded about as the month for when there may be more channels launching is because that'll be the new financial year. Well, actually it'll be April...If VM wanted to launch channels today and pay for them, the channels would launch today.

Re: Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008.
I think the name of the thread should be changed to ''NOT Coming soon to Virgin Media 2008'', after the fiasco of the ''Arsenal'' channel now being unavailable to Virgin when it comes into being on the 14th, due to band restrictions.
So what chance any new channels, especially HD, for the foreseeable future?
I think people will be shortly deserting Virgin, in droves , to Sky if this lack of ambition continues.
Mind you, this is perhaps what the management wants.
