Only because VM wanted to avoid being sued by Microsoft for totally ripping off the 360's Dash.
Looking forward to that gif.

Re: Virgin on Demand News
Just want to make clear this isnt my video. I found it, and even though I saw it a few months ago, have found it quite hard to come by.
This will show you the Cable iPlayer only. None of the footage is adapted from the PC or iPhone.
Unfortunatly, the video cuts off at the end, JUST as the demonstration shows the "Seach" Fuction. You will see the White search-bar appear at the bottom, and that is all, but Im sure we get the jist of it.
Also, ignore the music. Not a very good choice for the BBC, IMHO.

Re: Virgin on Demand News
You can see the similarities on the 360, though cant you?
Im suprised our boxes can handle stuff like this, but hopefully it wont be long before we find out.

Re: Virgin on Demand News
A further update of footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFRW4ZFq-Jo
Theres an interview up also, at DS, which gives a mention that iPlayer will come in the new year.
Virgin are running a new firmware which is making it faster, so with the application will come a better firmware, and, I believe, a possible graphics tweaking on the On Demand menu, of some sort...

Re: Virgin on Demand News
When TNA iMPACT! moves to Bravo, it looks likely that we will see TNA on Demand also, given many Bravo shows appear on Demand, and also given TNA is quite a good ratings puller for Bravo.
Thats good news for me, anyways! :P

Re: Virgin on Demand News
Screenshots look really good. Thanks for posting
Will the BBC iPlayer still come to VM or will they develop 'Kangaroo' and put that on VM instead? Will 'Kangaroo' replace iPlayer at all?

Re: Virgin on Demand News
Kangaroo will be some sort of offering asside from Virgin I think.
I think we will still get the iPlayer. Itd be nice to see the ITV content offered to Kangaroo.

Will all Friends series be added, or just a couple?

Re: Virgin on Demand News
The first half of the first series of Friends was added.
It would make sense to have the second lot added half way through the running period of the first set.
I dont know the expire dates for them, though...
Not really much to do with Virgin, but they are saying that BBC iPlayer will be available through Apple TV, next... (Wonder if there is an XBMC scripts for it, yet...)

Re: Virgin on Demand News
iplayer looks very good I have used the pc version since beta and it really is good. Just wish it had all back content from the beeb archives.
I hope we see 4od pc version on virgin so we can get old stuff and ultimately I hope there plans to bring film4od. It so much better watching the stuff on my tv rather than pc.
I just wish ITV got there act together to produce something in the line of 4od.

Re: Virgin on Demand News
I think thats something to do with the Share Prices and the Value of the company.
They dont seem to be expanding as fast as other channels, and even Channel 4 is beating them all to the punch.
Cant see a Film4oD coming, with Filmflex there already, but past content, in this day and age, with On Demand being on the up, I think will happen.
