A satisfied customer? - Surely not!

For some time now, I've been meaning to call CS to try to get my bill reduced, as everyone I talk to seems to be paying less. I'm on holiday this week so I finally got round to calling them on Wednesday morning.

Having read on here accounts of being kept on hold for ages, I made a cup of tea and settled in for the long haul...

After only a minute or two I greeted by a person asking how she could help. I explained that I seemed to be paying a lot, and asked if there were any offers that I could take advantage of. She said that these were for "brand new customers only", but agreed that it didn't seem very fair that existing customers should pay more in return for their loyalty. She suggested that I speak to sales, who may be able to offer a deal.

I was then transferred to another very nice lady who, after I repeated what I said to the first person, offered me a £20 per month discount - result

I then said that I wanted to upgrade to V+, and (more in hope than expectation) asked if there was any room for negotiation on the installation charge. She agreed to knock off £10, which was nice, and said they could install on Friday. All this took about 10 minutes.

The engineer came this afternoon, and the new box seems to be working perfectly, so I'm a very happy bunny

Sorry for the long post, but after seeing lots of posts complaining of problems and poor service from CS, I thought I would redress the balance and say how pleased I am with the service I've received. I do hope I'm not tempting fate by writing this!

Indeed. TBH, I was surprised at how easy it was to get the discount - I didn't have to threaten to take my custom elsewhere (which I had no intention of doing), all I had to do was ask nicely

Just hope your discount is reflected by your next invoice.

When cancelling my DTV because of seemingly insurmountable issues with the service I was pleasantly surprised to be awarded a half price 3 month BB package as a good will gesture for (presumably) the aggravation I had suffered. I have just received my bill, my cancellation of DTV is reflected in the invoice (well done VM) but I am charged full price for BB (sorry VM only half a fanfare then but a nice try) .
