RGB picture is really green!

Hi, When i set my samsung STB up for RGB the tv picture is really green.
So much so that the black background on tv guide is actually green, not black.
On Composite it is fine.
Am I doing something wrong. Everything seems to be ok.

Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: RGB picture is really green!

It sounds like one of the R or B pins is damaged, bent or missing at one end or the other of the scart cable. If the TV doesn't do RGB then switching between RGB and composite should make no difference.
In some cases a screen has different settings for contrast etc when it switches from composite to RGB and you may have to simply modify the settings on the TV, but I doubt it.
You are setting the TV to RGB as well as the STB aren't you?

Re: RGB picture is really green!

My scart is fine, and pushed in fully (I tryed another scart aswell)
Cable is plugged into AV1.

Just as a test I plugged the scart into the video out of the STB, and it doesn't seem to change between RGB and Composite, so I assume that is just composite out.

No matter what I do can't stop the RGB being green!

I would expect a £1000 tv to be able to accept RGB, or am I expecteing to much?

The RGB picture seems better quality, but I can't watch an overly green pic.

Even If I turn the green fully down on the tv settings its still far too green.

Getting a bit ****ed off now!

Re: RGB picture is really green!

Do you have another RGB source you can check to see if its the STB or the TV?
The VCR out of the STB is composite only.

Re: RGB picture is really green!

I don't think I have, My dvd player uses the HDMI connection, so no RGB there.

Bugger, I hope it is the tv, then I might get a new one!

Have just checked and AV1 is the RGB scart input, so looks like there's a problem somewhere.

Re: RGB picture is really green!

No, only the 1 tv. The cable guy is coming on friday, to test the box.
Just hope to get my endless saga with VM to come to an end!
