TV remote controls V-box - but it shouldn't

Hi

Hope someone can help. We've just had this problem starting today, where when we do certain functions on the TV remote, like changing the volume or the screen setting (e.g. from 4:3 to 14:9 or whatever), the V-box is controlled instead and the channel changes or we get the programme info. There doesn't seem to be a particular pattern to what happens though I've not looked for one. It doesn't happen everytime we use the TV remote but about 50% of the time on the particular buttons. We don't think we've changed the settings on the TV remote accidentally, nor the V-box, but perhaps we must have done. The V-box remote works OK and there's no problem with the picture or sound from it or the TV. Rebooting Tv and V-box doesn't help. It's a real pain in the behind though.

It's a toshiba LCD, I'm not sure exactly which one, about 3 or 4 months old, and we've had the V-box for about 6 months. The remotes are independent - TV should work the TV only, V-remote the V-box only.

We've got a Virgin technician coming out on Saturday but it would be nice if we could fix it easily ourselves! I'll check back in the morning to see if anyone has an answer. Thank you!!!

On the TV remote?

I dont use my TV remote, i use the V-Box remote. Altering the screen ratio you cant do with the V-Remote to the TV, but everything else can be.

All I can think is that the frequencies are both pretty close which IS strange.

Id recommend just using the V-Remote if you can... for futher info, Id call CS and see what they can do for you. Probably not much, but its worth reporting because its affecting with your viewing...
