Freezing picture and breaking up

Last week we had no Virgin service due to the engineer "forgetting" to connect us to a new cable as the old one was corroded! had the engineer, had a credit on the bill as my Daughter missed the premier of High School Musical 2 - anyway she's got up early this morning to watch it and record onto disc and the TV (disney channel) is freezing and breaking up all the time! I am sick to death of the problems with Virign - is this our TV or is it a national problem? is it worth speaking to India - will it sort it? BTW using a PACE box and just got a new Sony Bravia TV. Any ideas?

Re: Freezing picture and breaking up

Same in Glasgow!!

Service is absolutely terrible!
We are 80m away from "box in street". Cable installed years ago and has had zero upgrades.
Download speed 2.3 and should be "up to 20"

Conclusion
At £85 per month, what a load of crap!!

Am about my wits end!!

Cheers

I'm getting a slight break up in my TV service and I am 30m from cab!

Just had a re-pull and all new cables in to the home etc...

But at least my BB works and phone! (I have sky for TV)

My picture is crap, and it freezes. In Lincoln
Had engineers out on many occasions
Only got 2mb broadband, so can't comment on that.

When I play back anything that I've recorded the picture breaks up and the sound cuts out. My V+ box has been changed but it didn't make any difference!

We've been having that on our V+ box too - also noticed last night that it was doing it on some live TV - seems to be only on the Discovery type channels and stuff recorded from them though.

Re: Freezing picture and breaking up

I'm seriously considering moving to Sky mainly because getting a sensible response from Virgin Staff is , in many cases, bordering on the impossible.
We had a technician out who advised us that the signal booster he had just installed was a much good as a chocolate teapot!!
He also said that the only real solution was to recable from the street box and then run three separate cables to the house (one for each service). He further suggested that there was no possibility that Virgin would get involved in that.

The more I write, the more I feel like telling Virgin to stick their product where the sun don't shine!!

Cheers and.......end of rant!

Re: Freezing picture and breaking up

Thinking of quitting myself, but still tied into a contract for 3 months after listening to Dickies "stick with us propoganda" after losing Sky 1. Same as most people, i am on the top package, TV is crap, recordings pixillate, sound breaks up, internet download speeds chaotic (should be 20Mb lucky to get 2).

And now Dickie has the cheek to charge 25P PM plus 10P connection to report a bloody fault on his service. Bloody cheek to begin with, then when you finally get through it is a foreign call centre who can hardly speak a word of understandable english, and then if you get too technical for them THEY CUT YOU OFF.

New Flagship Launch Virgin 1, what a laugh, and i don't mean the quality of the programming, quite the opposite. Star Trek DS9 OLD - The Unit OLD - Knight Rider OLD - Street Crime UK OLD OLD OLD programmes etc. ABC under another flag.

Perhaps if they had not paid so much to Uma and Ruby for those stupid commercials we may have a better service.

Roll on the next few months so i can be rid of this crap.
