Clash between Telewest & Bravia remote controls

Hi All,
Wonder if anyone else has encountered this annoying problem with their telewest remote control. I have a Sony Bravia KDL W40A12U and Telewest PACE .
Problem: Got to ensure I have the right channel I want to watch on my Telewest set top box before I switch on the TV or else "watch the paint dry" for 3-4 mins until the air clears up for the telewest remote to activate. This happens each time the TV and cable is on standby mode( the cable remote works when the TV is off !!)

The virgin media guys were unhelpful. Anyone's got any thoughts???

this happens on quite a few flat panel tvs its just a case of waiting for the backlight of the tv to warm up it also happens a lot with low energy bulbs the only cure i know of is good old patience

I also always used to have this problem on my Bravia TV. However, since upgrading to a V+ box I no longer have this problem.

Interestingly, even if I switched the TV on using the button on the TV (as opposed to using the remote) I still encountered the problem. Could never work out why this was.

Thanks for your replies..reassuring to know its not jst my expensive Tv thats gone mad.
However, since upgrading to a V+ box I no longer have this problem.
Wonder what the V+ box comes with..is it the new virgin media box.

I have a new Virgin branded V+ box (only had it a couple of months). Since getting this I have had no problems whatsoever with clashes with this and my Bravia TV.

Get yourself a harmony remote i had a sim problem so got myself a harmony 525 killed two birds with one stone no clashes with the remotes one control does it all now.
