Smile Moving from Analogue to Digital

Terrestial reception in my area is very poor. I have enjoyed analogue TV via C&W/NTL/Virgin Media over the years with the ability to view one channel whilst recording 2 others all from cable without the use of a terrestrial aerial. Now, with the availability of V+ I am tempted to move to the digital service but would I still be able to record to tape and/or DVD for viewing elsewhere? Also, would it be possible to distribute the output from the V+ Box to a second TV in another room?
