Can I Change My BBc News Region?

Hi, Was with telewest and the problem i have i receive BBc London however i am nearer Brighton so i would like BBc South not London. Some Virgin staff staff say it can be done some say not.

I pick up my TV feed towards London hence BBc London.

I am still none the wiser if this is possible.

Please advise.

Don't think it is anything you can change, it may be that a change can be made elsewhere but I seriously doubt it.

Used to be able to do this on analogue over-the-air transmissions, but not sure about VM.

Well on VM on some higher number channels you often get regional versions of BBC repeated there, have you checked?

I think this would be something that "Rearranging Channels" would do, isnt it?

Unfortunatly, VM threw that out as soon as the new EPG arrived..

If you look at channel numbers around the 830s, you should be able to find some other local BBC regions.

I like to think that Luton is nearer London than the 'anglia' region - omg that area's news is just so weird. seriously - 'farmer giles has lost his pet goat' type stories... Luckily I can pick between London news and anglia news - bbc 'other' regional is 858

Here in York we go the opposite way on the cable platform. On old fashioned analogue TX we can receive programming and news from both BBC Yorkshire and BBC North East, as well as ITV1 Yorkshire and ITV1 Tyne Tees as well as a local RSL channel "York TV".

However on Dcab output, we only get BBC One Yorks. & Lincs. and ITV1 Yorks. plus the BBC/ITV AD & Nations feeds. We don't have the option to go to cable versions of our regional alternates (858/870), or a cable version of our local channel York TV, like customers in the Manchester areas do with Channel M.

It would be useful to York people if transmission from the headend that feeds our neck of the woods could be tweaked so that we could get at least our "local" channel York TV, even better if the regional alternates for BBC/ITV were available as well from Virgin Media. It'd be good if this was looked into at least.
