VOD message

I received the STB update yesterday and VOD, etc all wroked fine. All fine this morning too.

Since 3pm I have had the message VOD temporarily unavailable if this continues please contact CS. Whenever I press on demand.

I am in Leighton Buzzard, Beds, will this be just my box or is it a problem in the area? I have a PACE 4001 box.

Surely if it all worked OK following the upgrade it sjould be OK...or does it mean it suddenly realised it cannot cope with the new VOD?

Thanks

Re: VOD message

I don't think phoning up will achieve anything. But if you have nothing better to do then...........

Before I got the new epg trying to access VOD crashed the box. After the epg update I got the error messages you are getting. I found that if you persist, maybe up to 7 or 8 times, in OK'ing out of the error and trying again, eventually you will connect with the VOD server and get your program.

At that time I found that FF would not work and you could not get back into the program if you tried it. A soft box reset would fix that one.

I also depressingly found that the errors could crop up mid way through your viewing, you could always go through the whole process again? But with FF not working........

Very often a Hard box reset would be necessary after a VOD session (sucessfull one or not) or you would only be left with a now/next epg and be plagued with the "we are altering some settings so you cant use your remote. Please press OK to remove this message" nonsense.

Good luck with it.

Re: VOD message

I have just been on the phone to faults about the same issue - VOD not working in the Glasgow area since last night - they have an IVR message on there acknowledging that there is a VOD in the Glasgow area.

Problem I have is that I bought a film last night and it was only when I tried to play it that I got an error message.
Now as the fault is still ongoing almost 20 hours later, I am trying to get someone in customer service to acknowledge that should get a refund on the rental fee, but they have a further message on saying "We appear to be unusually busy at the moment, perhaps you could call back later"

Shambolic service, not even the option of a callback, which I have used with VM before.

Re: VOD message

Anyone know why my VOD has been down for a week, code 1021 and DCHP no return path. What is likely to happen if tech actually turns up on Wednesday, booked via India!!

Re: VOD message

he'll probs be ****ed off. They booked a tech for me when I didnt want one as I knew there was an area fault but they wouldnt take my word for it so I let them book the tech only for me to cancel it the next day when the area fault was sorted.

Oh yeah forgot VOD still not working last night.

Re: VOD message

This may sound like a bumb suggestion but try resseting the box ie unplug then plug back in. It worked for me, maybe its worth a shot.
