A little help?

Hey, I've been trying to set my remote to control TV volume etc, I've tried using all the codes fro my TV brand, and also the search code, the one code that "worked" is messed up, the volume buttons are changing tv channels, the up channel button actually turned the TV off....

I have a Samsung STB and a BUSH TV. Any help here would be greatly appreciated
