is there a solution to this?

is there a solution to this?

I live in a terraced house and I'm planning to put a second tv and second Virgin Media box into a room which has no exterior walls. Given the layout of the rooms of the house, there's no easy way to run cables under the floor boards or through the house, so I was wondering...

is there a way to have the Virgin Media (V+ or standard) box in the room where the cable comes into the house and then wirelessly broadcast that signal to the tv in interior room?

Any advice, product suggestions, etc on this are much appreciated!

Re: is there a solution to this?

You could use an AV sender, used one in the past work fine with a pace box, have to watch the type of box you get from Virgin and make sure the IR receiver will work.

HI techno191,

I've had a look some earlier threads and found a couple that you may find useful

Re: is there a solution to this?

The easiest way would most likely be a Scart AV Digisender. You basically plug one end into the box, the other end into the TV you want to receive, and the signal is transmitted wirelessly.

Some makes and models only send the television picture, wheras others can even send and receive IR signals (e.g. you can use your V+ remote in the other room to change channels, set things to record, the signal is sent to the box elsewhere in the house, then the video sent back).

There are numerous makes and models available, so it may be worth having a look through these forums and others where the topic has been discussed quite a bit. Different people have reported their experiences.

If you get an old Pace box, some use the IRDA standard rather than standard IR, so you might not be able to use the wireless remote control until you get a model which supports this. I think (correct me if I am wrong, though) that the V+ box uses standard IR, so you should be fine if you're just getting V+. If you're getting a normal V box, you may need to get one which supports IRDA in case.

As I don't know exactly what your needs and requirements are, you might want to do a bit of research yourself, for example a search for digisender on these forums should turn up some useful results.

Unfortunately I need to get running for now, otherwise I'd try to help more, but hopefully this might point you in the right direction for now

Good luck

[edit]I've been beaten anyhow with more useful information [/edit]
