Booked V+ Today but having 2nd thoughts
SkySports News is one of my favourite channels. I have freeview built into my tv but i have been told that freeview will lose sky sports news. V+HD only has 4 channels in HD, I have read that people are having problems. should i just cancel it and go back to sky+?
I had broadband and telephone and paying £24 a month, With the V+ ill be paying £43 though I wont have movies or sports
Whats the benefit of VM?

Re: Booked V+ Today but having 2nd thoughts
I briefly thought about V+ but dismissed it due to the lack of HD content and all the inherent problems with it.
I think they should be paying folks to put up with it. But I wouldn't bother with it even if they were, TV generally is so poor it is a chore to watch it with out having to wrestle with a PVR that seems still chock full of bugs.

V+ only has 1 channel in HD (BBC HD), although there is some HD content available via On Demand

The poor picture quality issues in general are enough to put anyone off, go SKY if I were you.

V+ is, first and foremost, an excellent PVR. The HD is a bonus for me.

Poor picture quality ? I've moved from sky to the V+ and think the picture quality on the V+ is far better.

I think making them HD is just to 'future proof' them for when they do get HD channels. Its main feature is the PVR and I think that the fact that it has some HD shows AND is a PVR makes it better than sky+ and sky+ HD just for the simple fact that it is cheaper

I agree. I upgraded to V+ with Telewest 12 months ago and though they later claimed to be negotiating for HD content, I don't think that they had intended it to be anything other than a PVR at launch. The inclusion of HD capability could just be a by-product of choosing an of-the-shelf PVR from SA.
