[Advice reqrd] STB stalls

Probably more of a technical question, but I am getting this more and more often over the last few months

I can be happily watching a channel for an hour two, then switch channels
The screen is empty (black) for that new channel, and the channel info box appears but remains on the screen
After a short delay of a further 5 seconds the "Channel not available" message appears
I then press the OK button twice to allow me back to the empty (black) screen, which then allows me to change channels again
Some channels can be found, others are black

As an example
Last night I was watching Channel 113, then wanted to see what was on 286
However, on going back to 113, it was black as above
I then went to 101 and it too was black
I swapped back to 113 and it was fine
However, at 01:30 there were no channels
I unplugged the STB for 30 seconds, but there were still no channels (at about 1am)
Switched the STB back on this morning at 11:30 and still nothing
I then unplugged it again, and the channels are back

Am I missing something?

Call VM as it looks like either your box is on it's way out or there is a problem somewhere.

VM have confirmed my STB is at fault and will be replaced within 7 days
Sounds like they have heard of this before
I performed various tests and advised that the UBR could not see my STB, hence why it wasn't receiving a signal

Re: [Advice reqrd] STB stalls

Are you on the new software?
Your problems sound very similar to those I have experienced after receiving it.
I am now rebooting daily and find this overcomes that particular problem.
In spite of rebooting daily however it is still in the lap of the Gods whether another reboot will be required after trying to use the VOD service.

Be aware that if it is software problem a box swap will probably not help.
Be also aware, if you have a sammie, that you may well get box swapped to a Pace .
