Got My V+, Lost Extension Box

The NTL guy turned up yesterday nice and early, left the working V+ box, having removed the Samsung STB it replaced.

Despite having been told by my wife that we had a 2nd box upstairs, which he never went near, yesterday evening after he left my wife discovered that the upstairs STB was no longer operative.

Quick call to India (or wherever the call centre goes to after hours), given the serial number of the STB they said nope, no record of that box in that household. And that's probably because that STB has been changed because of a fault in the not so distant past.

So called NTL first thing this morning, same story. Can't have that STB put online because we know nothing about it. But this STB was supplied and installed by NTL!

So we gained a V+ and lost the 2nd STB.

Re: Got My V+, Lost Extension Box

have you asked if there are 2 STBs registered to you?

it may be that the installer has taken the wrong one away, thus leaving the STB that was removed from the account and replaced with the V+

Re: Got My V+, Lost Extension Box

It was on the account that 2 STB's were registered. I added Sky Sports last week and the guy said "ooh, you already have 2 STB's - would you like a free V+?".

So regardless of which he took away the other one should still be valid.

Re: Got My V+, Lost Extension Box

from what i understand from when we got a v+, the box to be taken is already decided before the installer turns up and they should know which to take, was the one he took a newer one than the one left?

I think it was. He didn't go near the box upstairs which AFAIK was the older one.

Maybe you should stick with the original thread you started for the same complaint?

Re: Got My V+, Lost Extension Box

Actually the other thread was to try to find a Fax number for VM.

Doesn't matter now anyway. Got home from work this evening and the 2nd STB is back online.

I love VM, I think they are brilliant. This V+ box is superb. Sir Richard is my hero. The bloke from bangalore is an outstanding individual.

Thanks all.
