V+ issues

i have had v+ for a week now and on the whole am pretty impressed, apart from a couple of issues:

1. hdmi didnt work on installation but on reading a post on this site swapped the cable around and hey presto OK!
2. the first three programmes i recorded keep reappearing after deletion (10 times + ), seems to happen after standby or resetting.
3. the planned recording screen seemed to crash for a while last night but after a while sorted itself out.
4. yesterday morning had sound but no picture, left switched off all day switched on and seemed to be ok, i`ll leave a few days before cancelling virgin(make sure you do this as they will fine you if you are not there when they call £10)
5. remote control seems to be retarded i.e. you have to wait half a second after each press for the box to respond, Software issue...anyone know if the set is updated or do Virgin do this only.

Re: V+ issues

I havn't got a scoobie about 1,2 or 3 but :

4. I have had this happen twice, have rebooted with the button on the front and all is again well... hasn't happened now for over a month for me.

5. This lagg is caused by the fact that the V+ is constantly recording the channel that you are watching. So when you change channel it has to delete the old recording and start recording the new channel (whlst changing and decoding the feed and pulling the tv schedule and a few other things from the hard drive). The only way that this will speed up is if there is ever a feature to disable delay TV.

It does happen. It may be a bug, but is quite handy when you accidently delete the wife's soaps!!!

Re: V+ issues

I recently deleted a partially recorded programme and V+ deleted the partial and the next programme as well; I was a bit annoyed but the programme was due to be repeated in a few days so I set up V+ to catch the next showing.

The next day I was looking through my recorded programmes and the
partial was still deleted but the deleted programme was back. Not sure what was going on there - I imagine a small bug in the code not displaying all the programmes.

not so much disable delay tv but have a recording delay, like for example only start the delay tv recording after 10s. 10 seconds is plenty of time for someone to look at a channel and decide not to watch but isn't too much so people miss a lot of the program they were watching
