Area Problem or Cable Box ?

I have been having a couple problems with cable tv over the last couple days but today was the worst. Basically the picture freeze's and I have to reboot the box. Its normally fine after this but today it went down and even after rebooting it would not pick anything up I was just stuck on the NTL:Home screen. The navigator was not even loading. I was stuck with this for a couple hours.

I Also lost internet this time. Does any1 know if this is a problem with my cable box ? Or if there was a problem in the liverpool/wirral area lately ?

The box is a samsung. Thanks for any help.

Difficult to say without diagnostic tools. Could be the tuner on your STB going, or it could be a fault amp on the network. Best thing to do is ask a neighbour on ntl to see if they have issues, if not, its 151 i'm afraid!

Hi do you charge amobile phone near the box also do you have a cordless phone near the box a dect phone .Which version of software do yo have ? the new VM or the old software

Yes every now and again I charge my mobile near the box about 60cm away.

Yes I also have a cordless house phone which is about 2 meters away from the box.

I have had the house phone a year and its never been trouble before - Only started charging phone near box lately.

I think am on the new VM software because after the NTL:home screen when the navigator load's it say's sumthin like virgin media powering up please wait. But when I was gettin problems today the navigator would not even load.

The box would display ld20 or ld30.
