Question Samsung Box - Terrible Picture on Dell 24" Monitor

I've just "upgraded" to the VIP Package - I say "upgrade" because our old TV + Broadband + Phone packages were costing MORE than the VIP package :o(

Here's the thing - 'er indoors has the V+ box in the living room and I have the "old" Samsung Box in my computer room. The idea was to feed my Dell 24" using a scart > composite plug (Maplins + others) which I already have laying around.

The thing is the video quality is bloody awful and the sound levels are way too high - overloading the input of my soundblaster X-Fi even with levels turned down to a minimum.

Is there any way I can get a component output (plus audio) from the scart sockets on the back of the Samsung box?

Thanks in advance
