Tone down the attitude and someone might just offer some help.I can't help you because I'm having to reset my PACE STB at least twice a day at the moment and I'm going to have to wait for the newest software upgrade until May or even June..

Dude, are you smoking your Avatar or something?

Sorry, just made me wonder that's all, as you're still aggravating people.

You're probably having to reset the box every day because the software on it isn't quite as good as the testing made it out to be. It may be the case that it uses more RAM than the box has (and due to inefficient memory management is crashing it, slowing it down or even preventing it from keeping upto date listings)

Let's hope VM resolve it soon. I'm personally glad however that my Scientific Atlanta 4200 is still going strong with he new soft/firmware.

No they don't. A TV STB that fails to tune to the required channel when you key in the proper number is in no way a "crease", it's a major bug. They should have stopped the roll-out of the buggy "upgrade", and fixed the problems before inflicting new code on any other customers. They should also have reversed the "upgrade" and re-installed software that actually worked, until (if?) they manage to figure out where they've messed up.

It's basic customer service: don't leave your customers with a faulty service. It's also basic marketing: customers upset by the faulty service are more likely to choose other suppliers.

However, enough of what should have been done, and to get back to the point of the OP: When is it going to be fixed?

I think the problem is, as I have been experiencing it is:

Your PACE box locks up or On Demand is unavailable \ TV Guide not working etc... So you do what you did before and reboot it (power out \ wait \ power up). It's what CS always asked you to do first when you've rang them in the past.

Then you notice that your video settings are back too 4:3 \ Composite. Most of us, I'm assuming, use Widescreen and maybe RGB if you're lucky to have 2 RGB Scart sockets on your TV. I personally have 1 and use it for my DVD player. Anyway I digress.

I'm finding I have to reset my PACE since the EPG upgrade at least once a day. Then I have to go in a reset these settings. Hardly ideal. I was wondering if the PACE, I think I have a D4010i, just can't handle the new software. I would have thought that if I powered off the box it would remember my settings when I next powered it back up again.
A small ask, as some of us try and save the environment and power their devices down when not in use.

I've tried standby too. Sometimes it's ok coming out of standby and sometimes the STB locks up, requiring me to power it down anyway. It's a 50:50 chance that it works coming out of standby.

There are several other threads with similar complaints. In other posts (can't find 'em atm) it has been suggested that it's a national problem, that "hopefully" should be fixed by the end of April - tick, tock... Thus, when is it going to be fixed?

You know what amazes me about all you folk with this problem? You ACCEPT it, why? I have had SKY since 1991, current on a Pace box, it just works. No lockups, no missing EPG, it just works. Always has.
You could just cancel the crappy service and get a real Sky box.
Would you put up with an electricity supply that required you to restart the meter every day??
