Stuttering problem even after reboot

Recently I've noticed the picture has started to stutter on practically every channel & it's starting to really tick me off, I'm an ex ntl customer with a nice shiny Samsung box, before anyone suggests rebooting I've done it lots of times, twice already today with no effect.

Do I really have to phone CS or is it something I can permanently fix myself?

Re: Stuttering problem even after reboot

it happens sometimes, for instance im also on samsung in wythenshawe, south manchester and an hour ago sci-fi (ch 135) was stuttering really badly and freezing for minutes at a time, even in and through the adverts too.

its seems to be the channel mux (there are several channels inside one mux)more than anything so thats down to the VM head-end kit or the content itself, nothing you can do to clear it, you can hope that someones monitoring the channels, see's it, and does the required resetting or whatever they can to correct it, sometime they cant do anything and its a case of wait till it clears itself......

not exactly good but thats the way it is, it doesnt happen very often but it seems to be happening more often the last few months.

Re: Stuttering problem even after reboot

My Sci Fi channel is completely pixelated and unwatchable. I've rebooted 3 times and it makes no difference.

I am kicking myself for giving VM "one last chance now we are no longer NTL". I have to give them credit in that my BB hasn't gone off for over 3 weeks now which is a vast improvement, they even got one out of my two bills right this month...absolutely unheard of!

But their TV service is certainly nowhere near as good as Sky. Half the time the "guide" doesn't bear any resemblence to what's actually on. There is some good stuff on Sci Fi, I've paid for it, but I can't watch it.

Re: Stuttering problem even after reboot

Call faults. When it happened to me 8 months ago it was due to cable being degraded and potentially damaged, so they pulled and relaid a new one and it was fine.

Recently I had the problem with a set of channels after the V+ was installed - only happened on the V+. Took a few weeks and a few engineers, but finally got it sorted by finding it a new point on the cabinet.

Unless they know of an area fault it's definitely worth investigating. We/they tried a few things before they were able to trace the problem each time.
