Best STB
I've been following the posts for a couple of days now, and what I thought was normal crap service (freezing/info bar probs etc) could well be the STB. I have logged a call, as there is a problem with the scart sockets. I have asked they ensure the tech has a replacemen box on his van.
Now Im wondering, do all the STB's have their own quirks, and am i better off asking for a direct swapout pace 2000 box.....which is the best box?
A virgin on here....but, well.....y'know
I've filled a pram or two

Re: Best STB
I don't think you get a choice - it's whatever equipment the engineer has on the van when he or she visits.

Re: Best STB
I guess it depends what area you're in & what they have left over, which will affect what they have in the van. If you're lucky it won't be a Pace 4010. I had no real complaints about it [other than the Guide being a bit slow] before the new VM software [black EPG], but since then it was crap. It's a bit early to judge my lovely new black V+ box [only had it about 4 hours ], but it certainly seems a bit more responsive & quicker on the menus. The only thing I'm not happy about that's specific to this box is that when you put it in standby there's a blue-green-ish glow around the buttons on the right side of the box [I sleep in the same room that my V+ is in]. Hopefully a later software update will either disable that or add an option to enable a user to disable it themselves.

Really? I've had 2 at my house in the last 8 days. One was an area manager.
to the OP, if they give you a Samsung, take it. The Pace boxes are way behind the times.

Agreed, the PACE are quite slow, and I think they've come to the end of their useful life. But, you can't be choosy if that's all the engineer (male or female) has on the van.

Re: Best STB
 to the forum.
The best STB at the moment is the Samsung 2110C and it is also the smallest. As others have said, you will get whatever box the engineer has in his van but since my Pace was swapped for one of these, I've never had a problem.

Re: Best STB
The samsung 2100 and the 2110 are good boxes but as the others have said it a depend on what we have on the van

Re: Best STB
I just can't understand why VM still want to give the Pace boxes out as half the time, it's them that are causing the problems. The sooner they get rid of them the sooner the reputation of VM TV will go up.
