Re: can a reboot kill a box
It's not just Coventry, I'm nowhere near there & the same thing happened to me earlier today. Luckily it decided to work the second time. Try turning it off at the mains again for a few minutes & see if it decides to work when you turn it on again. If not, just leave it on & with a bit of luck it'll start working again sometime before tomorrow. That's what happened yesterday, it came back on about 1:15am this morning.
Then again, I'm still using a Pace 4010 [V+ arrives tomorrow], so I don't know what difference that'll make, if any.
1 other thing: I saw in another thread earlier a suggestion for people with a V+ & a normal STB. Try turning off the other 1, reboot the V+, then when it's finished power up the normal 1.
I don't think it's the box at fault, I think it's more likely the stupid firmware &/or the servers. Bearing that in mind, if your normal STB's working you may want to weigh how much you want the V+ working tonight versus whether you're willing to risk not getting to see any TV tonight, as if you try my last suggestion there's the possibility the non-V+ may decide to freeze as well.
<edit>
Thought you had the normal 1 working again, my mistake. In that case It would seem like my last suggestion might be the best idea.
</edit>
