Question Slow TV

Hey.

Ive got a old ntl box (3+ years old?) and it is very slow at changing channels + loading any interactive/tv guide.

a common problem is also the channel listings come up blank, so you have no idea whats on, although the radio times is useful for this, its not practical.

Is is because its a old box, or a standard NTL/Virgin issue?

Would a new STB sort this out, and also, how much do they cost?

Thanks,
Deano.Uk

Re: Slow TV

You need to ring faults free on 151 from a Virgin Media phone. Get an engineer around to swap your box to a newer one. The boxes are free, Virgin Media rent them to you.

Re: Slow TV

The engineer might swap your box for another Pace so if there's nothing wrong with it apart from it being a bit slow, I would keep it.

Don't mention the word ugly in your call as I don't think that is a good enough reason for a swap out

Re: Slow TV

Beige is neutral Goes with most other colours without looking out of place.

Re: Slow TV

I hate beige too. My computer, monitor and speakers are beige and they've all faded a different colour.

Call them and tell them your box is faulty and you aren't getting the service you pay for. Also check that the package you are on is the best/ cheapest for you as you will not get moved onto a VM package without asking. It's probable that you will need a new box anyway for the increased speed but if they complain just point out you can go to Sky and get ADSL as part of their package.
