Major fault Movies and Sports.

Woke up this morning no movies no sports no disney called tech to be told its a major fault with no estimated fix time. However got off the fone and they channels now do appear to be working although your greated with a blank screen then after a few minutes you get sound then a picture. But its freezing so unwatchable.
Can someone in the know tell me what keeps going wrong? I admit I never had tv off cable till the V+ but ive had BB and phone for years with hardly a drop out, Out comes V+ and ive had loss of service for a few days in a row a couple of times and at least 6 engineer visits since Feb. Im not going to be paying £85 quid for a service thats going to keep failing im seriously losing confidence in VM's ability to keep a system up and running for more than a few weeks at a time. Its not right that a service be so unstable. Ive defended VM but im starting to think ill be taking my tv back to sky if its not dealt with soon.
The other thing is when there is a fault with no fix time how are we meant to knwo when its working? do we have to keep checking just on the offchance not very good at all

In this instance as its just a few specific channels and not a total loss of service, I'd guess the problem is more from the source end of the channels than VM's end.

Not aware of the fault myself, not had the TV on this morning. But to reassure(?) you, I've been on cable TV for several years and had very few problems. Hope I'm not tempting fate!

Sounds like theres an issue with the SDH/ATM network between Langley and Bromley. Thats how the Sky channels get to Langley.

They fixed the 11 o'clock blip then, it used to happen every night where the TV would flicker for several seconds just around 11 (or 12 in the summer)?
