STB via usb

Hi guys, I am a total ignorant on "technology subjects", so I ask for your benevolence and help.
I receive the virgin cable TV trough a Samsung SMT-2110C set top box. Now I want to connect the STB to my computer via an USB TV receiver device. So, is this possible? and if yes, which kind of USB device should I buy?

Thanks for your help.

Re: STB via usb

I don't think that they offer the broadband through STB anymore. It was previously only available in the ex-C&W areas (Bromley), but as a process of standardisation - they only offer SACM now, and when I changed one box from Pace to V+ (the Samsung where the broadband comes through was staying) - they changed me as a matter of course to SACM.

Re: STB via usb

I think the OP is wanting to get the TV picture output from the Samsung STB onto the computer, and wants to know what sort of USB TV in receiver card would work?

Re: STB via usb

Any standard analogue TV capture card will work. One with a hardwired encoder would be better takes the load of the CPU, I have a Hauppauge card very impressed with it works fine.
