Well, listing your problem(s) may help, but to be honest, VM are far better than the companies were individually.

Well, since you haven't stated why you are not impressed, and what "cock-ups" have happened, you probably are being unfair.

For instance, since NTL became Virgin Media, my bill has been reduced and my package (oo-er) increased - I have gained V+, Sports, Movies, TU24, and a SACM for less than I was paying before. If that's "cock-ups", lets have more of them!

Seriously though, if you list your concerns/problems, people can respond appropriately.

My total price has decreased, and I've got a V+ TV Drive.

Get my broadband down to the same price (£10) that I keep seeing in the papers/via mail shot!!!/ leaflet drop. Is that really to much to ask - It only seems to be used by my wife to look at M&S or Argos`s sites. God I really object to paying £18 for that!!!!

I'd gladly pay £18 per month than having to go shopping WITH my wife.

Re: NTL please come back from the dead

I'll give you a short list of VM's failings so far if you like:

Losing Sky Sports News - my favourite channel after the Sky Sports Collection.
Losing Sky One - my second favourite channel after the Sky Sports Collection.
Failing to show the Pompey v Chelsea game on Prem Plus until 20 mins before the end. I'd even invited a mate round to watch the match. I was mortified.

However I now pay less and have more services so it isn't all bad.

"Probably written by a sky person - still refers to NTL...."

If you mean me starting to wish I was. The only time I can see it is the request to bring it back.

Firstly she only looks on it - still get dragged to shops!

Secondly I would prefer the software that supported NTL back - dont care what badge it has. The basics are a step backwards.

and as has been said many times before customer service is very poor.

Anyone reading this that can sort out the price of 2meg BB for me Please get in touch. CS/ retentions or what told me to take a running jump - my words not hers. E mail you must be joking - send it quick answer it slow. If at all.

My advise to any one looking to get Virgin is DONT.

Heh, my bill's the same, and my package reduced (well, technically it's gone up by 1p, but I'll let them off...)

I think it's too early to know whether things will improve, get worse, or whether it's just a name change.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? NTL were the company before they changed to Virgin Media. Since he is asking for them to "come back", it makes perfect sense to refer to "NTL".

Re: NTL please come back from the dead

I found the Virgin Media support helpline appalling, one of the worst I have every had to deal with. When the engineers came out though, they were excellent. Thanks for the help of the people on here who assured me to keep using my NTL account number, after about seven calls an operator found it.

Call Centre 2/10
Engineers 9/10

Hopefully (says with fingers crossed) that will improve. VM's biggest in house project at the moment is the amalgamation of their customer management systems. TW last year finally consolodated their last region into something called ICOMS, and this year NTL's final two systems are being migrated into the same system. It will potentially provide one billing customer database.

Only time will tell if a simpler billing system means better customer service. I think their biggest problem is retaining quality people, because quality people wil not work with disparate systems. They will also go where the money is better too. Peanuts, chimps....you know the score.

See NTLVictim, done you work for you again, another customer happy with the installers.
