no cable tv in northampton atm ?

i have been recieving the 5 terrestial channels through an old ntl stb left by the previous owners of the house i bought nearly 5 years ago, even though i dont subcribe to any tv package.
i watch analogue tv through the old box cos im in a freeview digital blackspot and its the only way i can get channel 5.
woke up this morning and no channels
is cable tv down in nn4 area ?
or have they turned off analogue signal ? (i thought they were meant to tell people first)

Re: no cable tv in northampton atm ?

what could have happened is that an installer has used the 'tap' serving your property in the street box for a new customer. It will have shown as available, seeing as no subscription is being paid.

Re: no cable tv in northampton atm ?

You subscribe to broadband and telephone, but not television then?
The old box should have been disabled

I'm in Northampton (NN1) and have Digital XL TV package. The analogue channels disappeared (apart from Sky News!) but are now back.

confused me. If they're not paying a subscription, then you can't really expect a signal.
