[Merged] Spend Money On Equipment Not Movie Stars For Adverts

Re: Spend Money On Equipment Not Movie Stars For Adverts

The fact that a lot of people now recognise the advert as soon as they see the star would point to the advertising working well. If they didn't run an ad campaign a lot of people would miss the re-branding etc. This could lead to lost custom, lost revenue and lost investment in future.

Well i dont think since ive had my new samsung box and the new epg the service has been good, but my old pace box was dodgy with the old software. i think virgin should uprgrade all there boxes eventually at least to the newer samsung, so i see what you mean. And the advertising i think is a good idea.

P.S. the most successful advert was the Shake & Vac ad - no movie stars there, stupid waste of money

Strange - I thought the "I bet he/she drinks Carling" was the most well-known?

Sky aren't in the top 10 for worst rentention. If you add a uneducated statement like that at least let other people know. Do you know who the worst companies are? Ill give you a hint, Sky, who aren't number 2 - RHL is number 2

P.s. If Anyone Read The Guardian Or Herald The Fee Was £20 Million That She Was Paid For Her "sponsership" - A Fee Virgin Was Quoted In The Inteerview? Thats More Than The Series Of 24 Cost. Maybe This Is Why Virgin Isn't In Broadcasting.

£20'000'000 Money Thrown Away For Uma Thurman?

Virgin Media Were Quoted In The Guardian As Saying Uma Fees Were £20million. Doesn Noone Else Think This Is A Total Waste Of Money That Could Have Went On Better Equipment And Better Deals For Loyal Customers (like Me)?????

I Think Its A Complete Waste Of Money. A Absolute Disgrace That Our Money Was Spent This Way

Re: £20'000'000 Money Thrown Away For Uma Thurman?

Yeah, they did spend a lot of money on the launch but I don't think the Virgin Media brand would be as good if they hadn't spent the money. I would have rather they spent the money on increasing the broadband upload speeds lol.

Is Uma the voice VirginMeadia use for phone "Reminder Call"?

Her voice sounds muffled and unintelligible unlike the male voice that NTL used which was clear!

So yes she is a complete waste of money

I read that as they didnt pay silly cash for a star but they did supply dodgy box's ?? Which i understand is correct as Skys HD box's had a high breakdown rate.
