TV Choice/On Demand issues

Hi everybody

Had Ntl TV installed last Saturday. First time I've had cable TV since analogue about 7/8 years ago - been with Sky. So far so good but I'm having a problem with On Demand.

The TV Drive receives the TV Choice programs free of charge as it should do (on Family Pack/Size: XL) although at the moment it's only the 4OD content. The Samsung STB (in the bedroom) has all of the TV Choice VOD from all the channels, but only the first episode is free - the others all cost 49p.

Rang Ntl last night and spoke to CS. Once the lady had confirmed that TV Choice should be free on my sub (she didn't know) I was put through to faults. He sent a hit to my box and told me to reboot in two hours. Needless to say this didn't work, so I'm waiting on a call back (hmmm) between 5 and 8 tonight.

Anyone else experienced this? Is TV Choice only free on the 'master' box? If so, this is a little lame as I was quite frankly looking forward to using it in the boudoir...

But what if I didn't have a TV Drive - just a normal box with Family Pack (Size :XL)? Is it a master box only thing? If so, that isn't made clear and it should be.

Re: TV Choice/On Demand issues

Once all the boxes are updated to the new software it should be free on any STB as long as you have the family pack. The reason that it is not free on the standard box now is that it uses ntls old VOD servers which don’t allow for subscription based services (reason it is 49p) but the new software (as well as the TV drive) uses the new servers that allow subscription services and as long as you have the family pack TV Choice should be free.

Hope that helps

Re: TV Choice/On Demand issues

So nobody out there apart from the UK2 testers have free TV Choice on their standard STB?

Weird...
