Recognise this number?
Does anyone recognise this number which has appeared on my bill?
09044950011 ICSTIS just reports that it is special services number provided by Freedom Telecom £1.50 per call. Google search came up with nothing.

Re: Recognise this number?
Out of curiosity I tried to dial it from my mobile seeing as I've got loads of credit that I never use.
I got a message saying "you have dialled an incorrect number, please check the number and redial..."
So either it's no longer in use, or my mobile company won't allow me to dial such numbers.

Re: Recognise this number?
Googleflump, thanks for that. I didn't do that cos I didn't want another £1.50 on my bill - weakens any argument with NTL if it shows more than once.
Just wondered if it was a voting line for something like Big Brother........

Possible but the cost of voting wasn't £1.50 was it?

Paul, don't know about that. Have no recollection of even making the call, neither does my wife. I avoid premium rate numbers like the plague.

Re: Recognise this number?
Have you asked the telephone provider as to what the number is? Is there a time against the call? Could be something daft like a vote number but are there any kids in the house at all??

Re: Recognise this number?
Has anybody had a phone call that wanted them to press a number on your phone to claim a prize or such ????

That has to be a 9 on the weird dungo meter, it is best that you call and find out from NTL, next time it could be £1.50 a min for 60 mins

Re: Recognise this number?
modem is disabled, no rogue dialers are on the PC.
NTL don't have any information on the number, ICSTIS are struggling to get any information, but hope to ring me back later. Very strange.
PS ICSTIS did say that 0904 numbers tend to be TV related and asked if I have interactive, NTL Digital TV doesn't use the phone line AKAIK, would expect anything related to tv to be itemised as such.

Re: Recognise this number?
How does interactive voting appear on ntl bills? Any chance it could be this?

Spoke to NTL, they don't recognise the number or have it on their database. Doubt that interactive voting on cable tv would show on phone bill, movies and premium content don't.
Remains a mystery, still waiting for ICSTIS to ring back.
Zeph beat me to it
