The Mail on Sunday: Furious BBC tells Virgin to pull 'Dr Who advert'.

The BBC is demanding that a Virgin Media television advert featuring David Tennant is pulled off air because they say it is trying to cash in on the success of Doctor Who.

l am afraid its typical BBC who are a shadow of what they used to be as they are run by nobodys who know nothing about running a once great corporation.

Pathetic from the BBC. No character reference is made whatsoever, it's all suggestion and innuendo.

So if Virgin wanted to do an advert with Lord Alan Sugar where he shoots Richard Branson from a cannon and declares "You're fired" then they would try and stop that too?

It shows David Tennant using the TiVo search facility to look himself up, and then selecting the Dr Who show. Clearly visible is the name of the show, the graphic used to represent it on TiVo and the info "come join the doctor etc...".

I agree it's a bit petty from the Beeb, but it is a shade more than "suggestion and innuendo" in all fairness.
