ntl one-stop service status page

Yesterday's major TV outage in Belfast & Glasgow highlights the case for a phone & tv service status page similar to the one for internet access at:
http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/ServiceStatus/

It would be a simple matter for ntl to extend their existing service status page to include phone & TV. This could be a one-stop service when there is an outage caused by a fault or an upgrade. Yesterday the helpline numbers all went down as well so it was not possible to phone to find out what was happening.

Is there anyone out there who works for ntl and carries some clout? If so do you think the idea might be worth suggesting to the powers that be?

Re: ntl one-stop service status page

Seems like a common sense idea. In fact the service status page being there for internet is the one that is likely to be least useful. After all if your broadband dies, what chance have you got of accessing that.

Re: ntl one-stop service status page

On the flip side Telewest have plenty of information regarding status of all services

For issues with TV & Broadband services http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status/tvissues.do

Issues with the Phone Service http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status/phoneissues.do

There is also a daily status page http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status/dailyupdate.do

Finally details of upcoming maintenance work http://www.blueyonder.co.uk/status/maintenance.do

I'm surprised NTL don't offer this level of service and i hope it gets incorporated into the rebrand to Virgin Media

I'll be surprised if it didn't - a LOT of Telewest procedures and habits appear to appearing on the NTL side of things.

Of course, by this time next month we will all be one big happy Virgin Media family.

Like support telling you to download their support tool, when you can't get online, even giving you the direct link

----------------
Blueyonders status screen seems more informative :/
