TV Drive Installed Today!!
Well I've been waiting for ages for this, booked the day off and was told they would be here between 12-6.
The Guy turned up at 11.30!! and was gone by 12.
All my channels were working within 30 minutes.
The only thing that doesn't work is VOD, never use it any way!
A bit slower than my old samsung box, but other than that it's fine, still on a CRT TV, so can't comment on HD. (Got the lead though, for when I get my new TV!)
I feed my bedroom of this box, works fine, apart from the guide doesn't display on 2nd TV. Remote works better over Omni Link than previous box.
Picture Quality is good and I now have optical out, which has now been connected to my surround sound system.
So I well pleased today, and will be trying out some recordings later, will post if I have any problems.
Dave

No on Demand?
That's crap!
Still, if you wanna watch it, you can record it...
Did you get the black box?
also,
what are the menus and stuff like?
the same as the screen shots for the Virgin Media Normal STB?

Slower??? Mine is a lot faster (especially the 8 day EPG) but then, I'm comparing against my old Pace box which now has a new home in the bedroom.
Happy TV Driving.

The Samsung boxes are a lot quicker compared to the Pace ones. I'm surprised the engineer didn't give you a Samsung STB when you got the TVDrive.

Nope, he just moved the Pace box upstairs, which to be fair is what I was expecting him to do.

Yeah, I suppose it is fair really because there's nothing wrong with it so why change it.

Maybe I should have 'found' a fault with it - or, as Ned would say:
"I want I want I want a sliver box!"

No got a silver box, menus are good, only the mini guide is slightly slower, not got the virgin media rebrand yet though.
Recordings work fine, even on movies 9 with pin.
Very easy to navigate and set recordings, guide is good to plus having 3 tuners is great!!

I'm in Northampton, not sure what the platform is though.
My mate had his done today as well, same result, everything ok and came when they said they would, so were both happy!

anybody would be forgiven for thinking you just said 8 day EPG for this new box.... oh wait... you did!
That's brilliant!
one of the things ntl: lacked was that, abd its only a small thing to some people, yet its those things that count!
how is the recorder setting to navigate?
do you just look through the guide and press a button?
what other small-yet-easier things have been added/improved in this?

Yes it's a doddle. You just press the record button when you have a programme selected in the guide . This works either with the epg or the small guide that you can bring up while you are watching something.
