Exclamation NTL Pace 1000, phillips wirless vide sender, cant change channels :( help!!!

hey guys got a big problem, i found out after buying the phillips video sender that NTL pace 1000 use IRDA complex signals whereas every bloody other thing in the world has RC5 (inc. the little IR sticker thing phillips provide). Right so i cant change channels, or can i??? went on the net for some research and have found 2 devices

1) Red-eye, ok get most of it but if i get it and stick it ontop of my pace box, then stick the Phillips one ontop of that will i be able to get to change channels with my exisitng ntl remotes or do i have to buy 2 more compatible ones??? (COSTLY¬!!!!!) . I say 2 new remotes because one in the room im using the box and one in the room with the phillips thing, is that right?

2) Digieye, would have no problem with this great device if it didnt cost so much, £45 for sending infra red signals around the house, i cant see the justification in that! is there any similar products out there which will do the job for sure and not empty my wallet!

3) Wireless kits, yeh seen some digi gold X4 thing, looks nice but once again the cost! i dont want to buy a whole new kit when i have a perfectly fine phillips set.

Any recommendations or help would be appreciated greatly!!!!!!!!

hmmm ntl are a bit funny with me, they state as there is no fault they wont replace it and will charge me a hefty send out charge, also they say they cannot guarantee what stock they have therefore what box ill receive, its all crap to be honest but leaves me stuck, ive seen others have same problem with ntl and i cant be bothered to wait for them to sort their act out!

Re: NTL Pace 1000, phillips wirless vide sender, cant change channels :( help!!!

i asked for the free broadband upgrade and as i have a pace STB they could not complete the upgrade, so i asked them for a new box and they agreed.

They upgraded me to the fastest service my box could take and lowered my monthly fee unil the new box arrived (i havent checked the bill yet though)

All in all they were very pleasent about it.

ahhhh i c, i have a seperate account for my broadband which i use through a cable modem, so my service is fine. my real problem is understanding how the red-eye will work and how i can incorporate it into my phillips sender system, preferably without buying new remotes!

You can still use the original remote in the same room as the STB as enough IR will leak round the Red-Eye and the NTL remote is pretty powerful.
