NTL Interactive

Does NTL interactive ever work?? since going cable 8 weeks ago i have found the red button on the remote as good as useless or the STB just locks up and has to be rebooted.

Re: NTL Interactive

IMO/Experience, ntl's so called interactive 'service' is pants.

If you have a search on the word interactive, you will see that many are unhappy with it, & once they go to Sky & use Sky's red button features they wonder why they put up with a 2nd rate service for so long!

If your interactive isn't working, get on the phone to ntl and get them to sort it.

Re: NTL Interactive

I just joined the forum (5 mins ago) to ask this same question. I was thinking of changing from Sky to ntl for the tv because of the latest price increase.
I know the red button is only a small thing (and will now be costing me £3.00 a month), but I do use it a lot and my OH uses it for the footie. So it looks as if I will be staying with Sky at least until the next football season is over as we shall be tied into PremierPlus.

welcome, but if I was you, I would stick with sky, because of the extra match choices you get with sky sports extra.

plus the interactive is mince with NTL

Re: NTL Interactive

Hi, I've decided to stick with Sky for the forseeable future, plus, I may be changing back to BT for the phone when my contract expires in November as I've had no end of problems with my bill.

Re: NTL Interactive

When I have tried to access ntl interactive for BBCi stuff, I just get the message "unexpected error"

Some say it is the fault of the Pace boxes but I think it's becuase it just doesn't work.

As for the EPG, forget it. All I get is "searching for information" or "listings unavailable" and even if they are available, the information is wrong as there was no correct listings at all on Thursday when schedules were altered due to the terrorist attack on London but my 6 year-old OnDigital box had the correct listings.

Our Sky+ system coped admirably with programme schedule changes on Thursday as well. Series linked recordings all recorded the full programmes despite time changes. Programmes that were set up to record on series links but were cancelled did not record anything as expected.

Smile Re: NTL Interactive

I find it amusing when I'm watching BBC 24 News to be regularly invited to "press the red button" but when I do I get a screen on which there is a message saying "there is no enhanced service for this channel" or similar.

I was hoping to get one of those multi-channel screens displaying a variety of active choices from which I can choose my preference.

The nearest I have seen to it is an advert displaying 6 simultaneous miniscreens of what must be pre-recorded material. Maybe one day we will be able to do this with "live" action.

Re: NTL Interactive

ntl chooses not to offer News 24 multiscreen. It's available on Sky (obviously) and also on Telewest. I believe there is some extra stuff on Freeview too.
