Re: stb user manual help

Hi numee,

to Cable Forum

Can't help with a manual I'm afraid (even Google) doesn't seem to find much.

Hopefully somebody will be along soon who can help more though.

Re: stb user manual help

Have you tried using the "HELP" button on the remote? It's quite comprehensive.

Re: stb user manual help

its not a case of missing out but i was trying to get my dvd recorder to power itself on for record directly from the reminder function on ntl which i found by chance messing about with the box last night which is why if i had a manual id know alittle more on how to use it.

Re: stb user manual help

if i could have got the dvd rec to start recording directly from the reminder set up that would have been good instead of choosing the programmes to be reminded about and then setting my dvd to record at those specific programme times seperately. It was just for convenice sake but we may have managed to get the dvd recorder to start up now but its in the middle of a test run.

If you do get it to start up automatically would you post the details back here please? That's the sort of information that other people might find very useful.

Many thanks, and good luck

Re: stb user manual help

I dont think that is possible. Generaly, the only way it can be done is if the DVDr has an EPG, then it controls the STB.

Think your only way of doing it is setting the reminders, and then telling the DVDr to record at the same times.

by feeding the scart ouput normally used for the tv to the io scart of the dvd recorder incase my case the EXT2 and using the reminder function with in ntl digital i was able to get the dvd recorder to start recording at the start of the initial reminder set. The stb does however have to be in standby prior to reminder starting. This unfortunately is as far as it goes as it will just cont to record and not stop at end of chosen reminder programme.

Re: stb user manual help

Not ideal then but it does the trick in a limited way... Nice one.

Re: stb user manual help

I suppose it would be OK with a HDD recorder where you can chop, but its a bit of a pain using a whole DVD for a 30 min show- esp if going on hols.
