Re: extra socket

NTL phone sockets are a different cabe to BT as far as I know. The sockets themselves work the same way but if you are thinking of extra sockets then you can still you a socket doubler and extension cable to create a new socket elsewhere.

Re: extra socket

NTL and BT phone sockets are pretty much the same and you can wire in additional phone sockets in the same manner.

Re: extra socket

NTL telephone sockets are just the same as BT's using similar wire. There is no fibre coming into the home for any of NTL's services.

Re: extra socket

Although...
Isn't the voltage with NTL less.
Won't make much difference with the socket but some older phones etc have problems on it.

NTL's socket even makes it easy to wire in your own extension, BT's on the other hand is harder.

Re: extra socket

i had my NTL socket installed next to one of the existing BT sockets that went through my house. I got the NTL eng to link the two sockets together which made all the exisiting sockets work with NTL.

That's OK as long as he removed the BT line from them too.

Re: extra socket

he will most likely have switched the lower front plate on the line sockets over, easiest way to do it.
