EPG question

How long in advance is the EPG supposed to show programs ? My STB (Pace) is currently showing about five hours worth and I want to record a program in twelve hours time. Is there anything I can do or do I just have to leave the STB switched on ?

Is that the EPG via the browse bar, or via the guide?

Re: EPG question

It's the same 5-6 hours on both. Particularly frustrating 'cos there's a +24 hour button on the guide which only ever returns "Programme information unavailable". Sounds like I need to talk to Customer Services ...

Re: EPG question

Have you tried restarting your STB. Unplug from the main for about 30-60 seconds then power back up. I find that if the guide is not working rebooting the box fixes that most of the time.

Re: EPG question

I was a bit more patient this evening - I tried looking ahead and waiting and the guide eventually appears after 60-90 seconds. If I'm prepared to wait long enough, I can make it display just over 48 hours ahead.

I like having cable TV, but IMO this is unacceptable - it makes setting up a timed recording awkward and very time-consuming. Why can't I just enter the times directly like I could with my old analogue box, or enter the relevant Videoplus numbers from a listings magazine ? Why is this facility SO far behind what is possible with terrestrial broadcasts ?

Re: EPG question

welcome to Digital TV

People have been going on about this for years.. even if you setup a reminder to change channels it might not work and when it does you get the purple msg on screen for ages first..

we have VOD on the way and also telewest are doing a PVR so things are slowly getting there but as you say still not ideal and recording days in advance isn't really possible
