Cancelling NTL TV - Can anyone help

guys,

this might sound a really daft question and i might get some sarcastic replys but i'll ask anyway.....

if i cancel my ntl tv package (currently the base pack) will i still be able to receive channels 1-5 through the ntl box ?

If you cancel your tv...................they usually come and take the box away

But if you cancel, and they haven't taken away the box yet. I think that is what you mean?

ok cheers guys.


i have read a few forums where people have mentioned plugging the ntl cable directly into the t.v to receive channels 1-5. anyone heard of this ?

High risk of putting lots of noise onto the network by doing this so it isn't a good idea...

Some areas have MATV where the cable is plugged straight into the back of the telly (poor reception , local authority). If the BB is running thru the box then a seperate modem is normally supplied and the box is collected....by a nice contractor like me!

If the job is done properly then all connections other than the working one are disconnected at the OMNI (grey box outside) or the ISO (white box inside). The green box (cabinet) feeds all services.
However, as per installations, every collector is paid per job so they may just do as little as possible
